Vietnam: Principles to apply import tariff rates within the tariff quota for poultry eggs

On January 24, 2017, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Circular No. 01/2017/TT-BCT providing for the application of import tariff quotas for unmanufactured tobacco and poultry eggs originating from member states of Eurasian Economic Union in 2011, 2018 and 2019.

According to Circular No. 01/2017/TT-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, principles to apply import tariff rates within the tariff quota for unmanufactured tobacco and poultry eggs are specified as follows:

- Imported goods must be enclosed with certificates of origin issued by competent authorities of member states of Eurasian Economic Union.

- With regard to unmanufactured tobacco, only Vietnamese traders can present permits to import unmanufactured tobacco according to the tariff quota granted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The quantity of imported goods shall be deducted from the import tariff quota under the permit granted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
