Vietnam: Officials and public employees when taking the entrance exam must sit 01 meter apart

On December 02, 2020, the Ministry of Home Affairs of Vietnam issued the Circular No. 6/2020/TT-BNV promulgating regulations on organization of recruitment and selection examinations for officials and public employees, examinations for promotion of officials' ranks, examinations or consideration for promotion of professional titles of public employees; regulations on recruitment exam, admission consideration for officials, public employees, exam or consideration for promotion of public employee professional title.

According to Article 16 of the Regulation issued together with the Circular No. 6/2020/TT-BNV of the Ministry of Home Affairs of Vietnam, regulations on how to arrange examination rooms for officials and public employees when taking recruitment exams, exams for promotion, and exams for promotion of professional titles are as follows:

Article 16. Examination room layout and arrangement

1. For the computer-based multiple-choice test: The exam room is equipped with computers to meet the requirement that each candidate use a computer to directly take the test.

2. For written test and paper-based multiple-choice test: Each exam room is arranged with no more than 50 candidates, each candidate sitting at a table or about 01 meter apart. At least 30 minutes before the exam time, the examiner will number the candidate's registration number at the exam room and call the candidate into the exam room.

3. For interview and practice exam: The exam room is arranged in accordance with the organization of the interview and practice exam.

It can be seen that, for the written test and the paper-based multiple-choice test, each candidate should sit at a separate table, or if they sit together, they must be about 1 meter apart. In addition, if a candidate is exempted from taking any part of the exam, he or she is allowed to be absent from that part of the exam.
