Vietnam: New regulations on determining and classifying documents in the transportation sector

On December 28, 2018, the Vietnam Ministry of Transport issued Circular 61/2018/TT-BGTVT on amendments to the Regulation on the retention of documents of the Ministry of Transport issued together with Circular 74/2014/TT-BGTVT.

According to Circular 61, the determination and classification of documents in the transportation sector in Vietnam are carried out as follows:

1. The Ministry's Office presides and cooperates with agencies and units to develop a list of retention periods for the fields and groups of professional and operational documents of the Ministry of Transport, submitted to the Minister for decision.

2. Abbreviations for document groups

- TH: Comprehensive document group;

- QHKHTK: Planning, plan, and statistics document group;

- TCNS: Organization and personnel document group;

- LDTL: Labor and salary document group;

- TCKT: Finance and accounting document group;

- XDCB: Basic construction document group;

- KHCN: Science and technology document group;

- HTQT: International cooperation document group;

- TTKN: Inspection and complaint resolution document group;

- TDKT: Emulation and commendation document group;

- PC: Legal document group;

- HCQT: Administrative and office management document group;

- CMNV: Professional operations document group;

- DDT: Communist Party and agency organization document group;

- HSHC: Completion documentation group.
