Vietnam: Minimum knowledge requirements for the intermediate level of textile technology industry

Recently, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam issued Circular No. 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum knowledge requirements and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from the intermediate and college levels for professions in the fields of materials, metallurgy, manufacturing, and other technical fields, which takes effect from February 10, 2019.

In the provisions regarding the minimum knowledge requirements and competency standards that students need to achieve upon graduating from intermediate and college-level textile technology programs issued under Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum knowledge required for graduates of intermediate-level textile technology includes:

  • Ability to present contents related to technical drawing, electrical engineering, ventilation and air conditioning, applied mechanics, fitting tolerances, labor safety, and the working environment, and applying them to execute tasks and jobs in the textile profession;

  • Ability to recognize the characteristics and properties of various fibers and yarns used in the fabric weaving process;

  • Understanding of the basic principles of spinning technology, fabric weaving, and dyeing for finishing textile products;

  • Ability to explain methods for product quality inspection and the management of a production team within a fabric weaving line;

  • Description of the basic technology involved in fabric weaving stages, including the setting of material norms, labor, and machine productivity within the weaving line;

  • Basic knowledge of politics, culture, society, law, national defense, security, and physical education as prescribed by regulations.
