Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam prescribing the minimum amount of knowledge, competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from intermediate and college levels in fields such as materials, metallurgy, production, and other technical technologies will take effect from February 10, 2019.

According to the Regulations on minimum knowledge volume and competency requirements that learners should achieve after graduating from intermediate and college levels in the field of ship hull manufacturing technology issued with Circular 46/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum knowledge learners must attain after graduating in the field of ship hull manufacturing technology at the college level is as follows:
- Explain the basic parameters that represent the shape and structures of ships;
- Analyze the method of launching the ship’s lines plan;
- Analyze the methods of expanding detailed structural parts, ship hull plates;
- Explain the basic requirements of ship equipment: Steering devices, anchoring devices, lashing equipment, lifesaving equipment, towing devices;
- Analyze the assembly standards, general processes of shipbuilding technology;
- Explain the processes of machining, manufacturing templates, mold bases, processing hull plates, and assembling structural parts of the ship hull;
- Explain the processes of assembling sub-blocks, main blocks, and the hull assembly process on the slipway ensuring technical requirements;
- Determine the supervision methods during machining, assembling sub-blocks, main blocks, and ship hulls;
- Identify the causes of damage to hull structures and methods of ship repair;
- Determine the common methods of launching ships;
- Present the management methods, principles, and methods of planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating processes within the scope of the training field;
- Present basic knowledge about politics, culture, society, law, national defense and security, and physical education as prescribed.
