Vietnam: Knowledge volume required for students pursuing college-level underground mining technology (Illustrative image)
Under Circular 50/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, students pursuing college-level underground mining technology in Vietnam must complete a minimum knowledge volume of 2,500 hours (equivalent to 90 credits), including the following knowledge:
- Present the methods of mine opening and minefield preparation, underground mining systems;
- Analyze the characteristics of coal seams, seam pillars, seam roofs, fault phenomena, and folds;
- Present the structure, erection sequence, and technical requirements of various types of timber supports, metal supports, and bolting in preparatory pits;
- Present the structure and erection techniques for timber supports, and single hydraulic prop-sill supports; techniques for moving XDY hydraulic shields, ZH/GK frame shields, chained hydraulic supports, and hydraulic shields in mine pits;
- Analyze the structure, working principles, usage scope, and operating techniques of various drilling machines, transportation equipment, loading equipment, and mechanized equipment in underground mining;
- Present the technical process for reinforcing and restoring supports in mining and preparatory pits from simple to complex levels;
- Present the installation and retrieval process of supports, shields, and hydraulic shields in mine pits;
- Present methods and requirements for drafting technical and safety measures for construction sites in preparatory and mine pits;
- Present methods for drafting drilling and blasting plans in preparatory and mine pits;
- Present the process for controlling initial and periodic mine pressure in mine pits;
- Present methods for organizing and supervising production team and group activities;
- Analyze the concentrations of various toxic gases, combustible gases, and air in underground mines;
- Present the hazards causing accidents in underground mines and preventive measures, common incidents and solutions, and preventive measures;
- Present the structure, working principles, and usage techniques of common mining rescue equipment;
- Present basic knowledge about politics, culture, society, law, national defense and security, and physical education as regulated.
