According to the regulation on the minimum knowledge volume and required competencies for graduates from intermediate and college levels in Mould fabrication issued together with Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, graduates of Mould fabrication, Level 5 of VQF in Vietnam have the competencies to meet the requirements for job positions in the industry, including:

- Designing moulds;

- Processing mould parts on universal lathes;

- Processing mould parts on universal milling machines;

- Processing mould parts on universal grinding machines;

- Processing mould parts on CNC lathes;

- Processing mould parts on CNC milling machines;

- Processing mould parts on EDM machines;

- Processing mould parts on wire-cutting machines;

- Polishing moulds;

- Assembling and inspecting moulds;

- Adjusting and repairing moulds.

Furthermore, the minimum knowledge volume and required competencies for graduates of Mould fabrication, Level 5 of VQF can further develop at higher levels. Graduates may self-learn and self-update scientific and technological advancements within the major to improve their competency or pursue further qualifications within the same industry, group of industries or related training field.
