Vietnam: Issuance of energy consumption norms in the plastics industry

Energy consumption norms in the plastics industry by 2025 are regulated by Circular 38/2016/TT-BCT as follows:
- Period until the end of 2020
- Period from 2021 to the end of 2025
Notably, plastic products regulated by Circular 38/2016/TT-BCT include:
- Packaging plastics: including plastic bags, plastic bottles, and packaging plastic.
- Construction plastics: including types of plastic products used in construction produced through extrusion processes, excluding products combined with other types of materials.
- Household/Technical plastics: including household plastic products and technical plastics produced through injection molding processes.
Relevant provisions can be found in Circular 38/2016/TT-BCT of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam effective from February 10, 2017.
