On December 28, 2018, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs of Vietnam issued Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH on the minimum knowledge volume and required competencies for graduates from intermediate (Level 4 of VQF) and college (Level 5 of VQF) levels in mechanical engineering sectors.
Vietnam: Introduction to Mechanical equipment assembly, Level 5 of VQF - Illustrative image
According to the regulation on the minimum knowledge volume and required competencies for graduates from intermediate and college levels in mechanical equipment assembly issued together with Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, Mechanical equipment assembly, Level 5 of VQF is a profession where the practitioners' main job is in the assembly of projects and plants such as thermal power plants, hydroelectric power plants, oil refineries, drilling rigs, cement plants, etc. These involve the assembly of shaped steel equipment, equipment clusters, and production line systems in the industry, meeting requirements for Level 5 in the Vietnamese National Qualifications Framework.
Practitioners in Mechanical equipment assembly in Vietnam can work independently or in groups with tasks such as installing and aligning monolithic machines like mechanical processing machines; installing production line systems like steel rolling lines, welding robot lines, forming lines; installing shaped steel equipment such as industrial building frames, conveyor frames, and racks; installing material containing equipment such as tanks, reservoirs, dust filters, and hoppers; installing round pipe equipment like water supply pipes, fire fighting pipes, oil supply pipes, and gas supply pipes; installing square and rectangular pipe equipment like ventilation, dust extraction, air conditioning, steam and gas conduits, and assembling, disassembling, maintaining mechanical drive system clusters, and joints. Moreover, Practitioners in Mechanical equipment assembly in Vietnam also can process support clusters for the assembly process, pre-assemble mechanical detail clusters in workshops, transport products to construction sites, and complete the assembly work.
The minimum knowledge volume is 2,500 hours (equivalent to 90 credits).
