On December 28, 2020, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam issued the Circular No. 25/2020/TT-BYT prescribing national hospital quality awards.
National hospital quality awards shall be considered and conferred every two years and announced on the occasion of the World Standards Day (October 14). The organization of award consideration and presentation begins in 2021. According to Article 4 of the Circular No. 25/2020/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, there are 02 types of awards, including: national quality awards and topic-specific awards. To be specific:
1. National quality awards:
- National gold award for hospital quality: 01 award;
- National silver award for hospital quality: 02 awards.
2. Topic-specific awards include 01 gold award and 01 silver award for each of the following topics:
- Patient safety award;
- Surgical safety award;
- Clinical quality award;
- Testing quality award;
- Hospital pharmacy award;
- Patient care award;
- Clinical nutrition award;
- Bacterial contamination control award
- Health workforce development award;
- Award for improvement of medical examination and treatment process;
- Award for application of information technology in hospital;
- Patient satisfaction award.
Thus, there are 02 types of national hospital quality awards, including national quality awards and topic-specific awards. Topic-specific awards include 12 specific topics with 01 gold award and 01 silver award for each topic.
