According to Circular 43/2010/TT-BGDDT on Regulations on Compilation, Selection, Appraisal, Approval, and Use of Professional Intermediate Textbooks issued by the Minister of Education and Training, the selection of intermediate textbooks is carried out meticulously and systematically.
How is the selection of professional intermediate-level textbooks carried out? (Illustration)
Articles 8 and 9 of Circular 43/2010/TT-BGDDT of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam stipulate the selection of professional intermediate-level textbooks as follows:
- Regarding the organization of textbook selection:
Schools that do not self-organize the compilation of textbooks must organize the selection, appraisal, and approval of existing textbooks (not compiled by the school) to use as official teaching and learning materials in the school.
- Regarding the textbook selection process:
- Based on the proposal of the Faculty leadership, the school principal issues a decision to establish the Textbook Selection Committee for appraisal (referred to as the Textbook Selection Committee) consisting of the Head and members; the composition, quantity, and specific duties of the members of the Textbook Selection Committee are prescribed by the school principal.
- The Textbook Selection Committee researches, lists, and summarizes the basic content, preliminarily evaluates each available textbook according to the general requirements for textbooks stated in Article 3 of this Regulation as a basis for the Faculty leadership to submit to the school principal for consideration and the establishment of the Appraisal Council.
- Based on the proposal of the Faculty leadership, the school principal considers and issues a decision to establish an Appraisal Council for the textbooks proposed by the Textbook Selection Committee. The appraisal of these textbooks is carried out according to Chapter IV of this regulation.
