Recently, the Prime Minister of Vietnam submitted Presentation No. 1140/TTr-TTg dated December 06, 2022, to the President regarding gifting revolutionary contributors during the Lunar New Year of 2023.

The proposal specifies the gift amounts for revolutionary contributors during the Lunar New Year 2023 as follows:

Annually, the President provides gifts to revolutionary contributors on the occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year. In 2023, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Cat (Quy Mao), the Prime Minister of Vietnam of the Government of Vietnam proposed to the President to present gifts to revolutionary contributors as follows:

1. Beneficiaries of Gifts on the Occasion of Lunar New Year 2023

In Section I of Presentation 1140/TTr-TTg issued in 2022, the beneficiaries of gifts on the occasion of Lunar New Year 2023 are specified as follows:

(1) Revolutionary contributors:

Individuals engaged in revolutionary activities before January 01, 1945, who are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

Individuals engaged in revolutionary activities from January 01, 1945, until the August Revolution of 1945, who are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

Mothers of Vietnamese Heroes receiving monthly preferential allowances.

Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces and Labor Heroes during the resistance war, who are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

Wounded soldiers, individuals granted policies similar to those for wounded soldiers, type B wounded soldiers, and diseased soldiers with a body impairment rate of 81% or higher, who are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

Individuals engaged in resistance activities affected by chemical toxins with a body impairment rate of 81% or higher, who are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

Individuals who contributed to revolutionary activities and are receiving monthly nurturing allowances.

(2) Relatives of martyrs who are receiving monthly nurturing allowances; relatives of two or more martyrs who are receiving monthly allowances.

(3) Revolutionary contributors:

Wounded soldiers, individuals granted policies similar to those for wounded soldiers, type B wounded soldiers, and diseased soldiers with a body impairment rate of up to 80%, who are receiving monthly preferential allowances. Wounded soldiers receiving policies for labor loss.

Individuals engaged in resistance activities affected by chemical toxins with a body impairment rate of up to 80%, who are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

Individuals engaged in revolutionary, resistance, national defense activities or international duties who were imprisoned by the enemy and are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

Individuals who contributed to revolutionary activities and are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

(4) Representatives of martyrs' relatives.

(5) Individuals worshiping martyrs (in cases where martyrs have no relatives).

2. Gift Amounts for Revolutionary Contributors on the Occasion of Lunar New Year 2023

In Section I of Presentation 1140/TTr-TTg issued in 2022, the gift amounts for the occasion of Lunar New Year 2023 are specified as follows:

- Gift amount of 600,000 VND for beneficiaries (1), (2)

- Gift amount of 300,000 VND for beneficiaries (3), (4), (5)

3. Total Budget for Gifting Revolutionary Contributors on the Occasion of Lunar New Year 2023

According to Section II of Presentation 1140/TTr-TTg issued in 2022, the budget for the gift during the Lunar New Year 2023 is 460,644,600,000 VND

(Four hundred sixty billion, six hundred forty-four million, six hundred thousand VND)

4. Detailed Gift Amounts for Revolutionary Contributors on the Occasion of Lunar New Year 2023

According to the Appendix of the estimated budget for the President’s gifts to revolutionary contributors on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of 2023, attached to Presentation 1140/TTr-TTg issued in 2022:
