Recently, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam issued Circular No. 45/2018/TT-BLDTBXH regulating the minimum knowledge requirements and capacity standards that learners must achieve upon graduating from intermediate and college levels in the fields of architectural technology, construction works, mechanics, electricity, electronics, telecommunications, and chemistry.
Circular No. 45/2018/TT-BLDTBXH of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam provides general regulations on the profession of construction engineering technology at the college and intermediate levels as follows:
- College-level construction engineering technology is a specialized field in the areas of construction, consultancy, design, construction organization, supervision, and acceptance of civil and industrial construction projects, such as residential buildings, hotels, factories, hospitals, etc., which meets the requirements of Level 5 in the National Qualifications Framework of Vietnam.
- Intermediate-level construction engineering technology is a specialized field in the areas of construction, consultancy, design, construction organization, supervision, and acceptance of civil and industrial construction projects, such as residential buildings, hotels, factories, hospitals, etc., which meets the requirements of Level 4 in the National Qualifications Framework of Vietnam.
- Learners of construction engineering technology are equipped with knowledge in applied mathematics, design software, and construction management. In addition, they are equipped with knowledge in the field of civil and industrial construction, such as surveying, construction structures, specialized experimental methods for construction, consultancy, supervision, and construction organization. Moreover, learners also have the ability to inspect materials, ensure construction quality and labor safety, and have a solid understanding of environmental protection solutions and construction regulations.
- Professionals in construction engineering technology have various career options, including technical officers, construction supervision, project management, internal supervision, quality management, estimation, bidding documentation preparation, and design etc. The majority of construction engineering technology jobs are outside the construction site and within the workshop, requiring good health, the ability to work at heights, concentration, and high professional knowledge and skills in safety protection.
Note:
- The minimum knowledge requirement for the college level is 1,860 hours (equivalent to 75 credits).
- The minimum knowledge requirement for the intermediate level is 1,425 hours (equivalent to 60 credits).
