On October 06, 2020, the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam issued Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP regarding the technical ranking for pilots and crew members in the Vietnam People's Army Force.
Vietnam: From January 01, 2021, military pilots' technique will be divided into 3 ranks (Illustration)
According to Article 4 of Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP, military pilots in Vietnam who are not officers, professional soldiers, non-commissioned officers, or soldiers who have completed military pilot training programs and have been awarded certificates and licenses by a competent authority but have not met classification standards specified in Chapter III of Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP will not be classified.
Crew members who are not military personnel who have completed training programs for military crew members, approved by the competent authority to perform duties according to their responsibilities but have not met the classification standards specified will not be classified. Pilots and military crew members who meet the classification standards as specified will be considered and granted corresponding technical ranks in order from Rank 3, Rank 2, to Rank 1. The military pilots' technique will be divided into 3 ranks as follows:
- Pilots (main pilots, co-pilots):
+ Rank 3 Military pilot (main pilot, co-pilot);
+ Rank 2 Military pilot (main pilot, co-pilot);
+ Rank 1 Military pilot (main pilot, co-pilot).
- Dual-role pilots:
+ Rank 3 dual-role pilot;
+ Rank 2 dual-role pilot;
+ Rank 1 dual-role pilot;
- Flight instructor pilots:
+ Rank 3 Flight instructor pilot;
+ Rank 2 Flight instructor pilot;
+ Rank 1 Flight instructor pilot;
