This is one of the benefits of donors from whom tissues or organs have been removed specified in the Law on donation, removal and transplantation of human tissues and organs and the donation and recovery of cadavers 2006 of Vietnam.
According to the Law on donation, removal and transplantation of human tissues and organs and the donation and recovery of cadavers 2006 of Vietnam, donors from whom organs have been removed are entitled to the following benefits:
- Free health care and rehabilitation right after their tissues are removed at medical establishments and free regular health checks;
- Free health insurance cards;
- Prioritized transplantation of human tissues or organs at the prescription of a medical establishment;
- Receipt of a For the People's Health medal according to regulations of the Minister of Health.
According to Circular No. 104/2017/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam, the level of support for periodical health check-up expenses for donors from whom organs have been removed is as follows:
- To be exempted from the cost of periodical medical examination according to the guidance on medical expertise prescribed by the Minister of Health according to the price of health examination services for people who have donated body parts issued by competent agencies;
- To be supported with bedroom rent in case the person who has donated human body parts is far away from medical examination and treatment establishments and cannot go home on the same day (excluding the case where the person who has donated human organs is hospitalized for medical examination and treatment covered by health insurance coverage): 450,000 VND/day/person, no more than 02 days;
- To be supported for meals during the actual days of regular health checkup, up to 03 days/periodic examination: 200,000 VND/day;
- To be entitled for support for travel expenses from home to medical examination and treatment establishments, performing periodical health checks and vice versa according to the price of public transport. In the case of using personal means of transportation, the basis for determining the level of travel expense support is the distance from home to medical examination and treatment establishments and vice versa with a fuel consumption of 0.2 liters of gasoline/km and the price of gasoline in the locality where the transportation is carried out.
