Vietnam: Fire safety design approval fees

On November 11, 2016, the Minister of Finance of Vietnam signed and issued Circular No. 258/2016/TT-BTC on fire safety design approval fees, collection, transfer, management and use thereof.

According to Circular No. 258/2016/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam, fees shall be paid by organizations or individuals upon request by the authorities that issue the fire safety design approval.

Fee collectors are regulatory authorities that carry out the fire safety design appraisal, including: Central Department of Fire safety, Firefighting, and Rescue, provincial fire departments and provincial police authorities of provinces.

The appraisal fee range of a project is from 500.000 VND/project to 150.000.000 VND/project, which shall be calculated as follows:

The collectors may retain 80% of the collected fees to cover costs. The remaining 20% shall be transferred to the state budget.

Circular No. 258/2016/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam takes effect from January 01, 2017 and replaces Circular No. 150/2014/TT-BTC.
