Vietnam: Expenses incurred on clothing, electricity and water shall be directly counted in the price for medical examination

This is a content specified in Circular No. 39/2018/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam unifying prices of medical examination and treatment services covered by medical insurance among hospitals across the country and guidelines for applying prices and payment for medical services in certain cases.

According to Circular No. 39/2018/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, the following expenses shall be directly counted in the price for medical examination:

- Expenses incurred on patient clothing, scrubs, medical cap, surgical mask, bedspread, pillow, mattress, mat, stationery, medical glove, cotton wool, bandage, alcohol, gauze, brine and other supplies serving the medical examination;

- Expenses incurred on electricity, water, fuels, daily-life waste treatment, medical waste (solid and liquid waste); laundry, steaming, drying, washing or disinfecting cloth, examination equipments; etc.;

- Expenses incurred on maintenance and care of equipment, purchase of assets and tools for replacement such as air conditioners, computers, printers, dehumidifiers, fans, etc.

View expenses that are directly counted in the prices for hospital stay at Circular No. 39/2018/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, effective from January 15, 2019.
