Vietnam: Effective period of the certificate and inspection stamp

On May 14, 2018, the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam issued Circular No. 29/2018/TT-BGTVT, which specifies the use and effective period of the certificate and inspection stamp.

According to Circular No. 29/2018/TT-BGTVT of the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam, use of the certificate and inspection stamp is specified as follows:

- The certificate issued to a component, equipment or part shall be used as the basis for assembly;

- The certificate issued to a vehicle shall be used to follow customs procedures upon import and procedures for registration and sale of the vehicle;

- The inspection stamp stuck to the vehicle in accordance with the regulations laid down in the Appendix IV hereof.

Effective period of the certificate and inspection stamp is determined as follows:

- The effective period of the certificate and inspection stamp issued according to the inspection frequency is provided in the Appendix VI hereof;

- The certificate and inspection stamp will be invalidated if the Vietnam Register certifies that the actual specifications for the vehicle are not conformable with those on the certificate or the vehicle is involved in an accident in such a way that technical safety and environmental safety are not ensured as prescribed.
