Vietnam: Composition of the provincial-level anti-terrorism steering committees

Currently, the provincial-level and central-affiliated city-level anti-terrorism steering committees (provincial-level anti-terrorism steering committees)  are advisory bodies that assist the People's Committees and the Chairmans of the People's Committees of the provinces or central-affiliated cities in organizing and directing anti-terrorism work in the provinces or central-affiliated cities.

Composition of the provincial-level anti-terrorism steering committees is specified in Decree No. 07/2014/ND-CP of Vietnam’s Government, including:

- Chairman of the People's Committee of the province, Head of the Committee;

- Director of the Police Department of the province, Deputy Head of the Committee;

- Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs (if any), Member;

- Director of the Department of Transport, Member;

- Director of the Department of Information and Communications, Member;

- Director of the Department of Health, Member;

- Director of the Department of Finance, Member;

- Deputy Director in charge of security affairs of the Police Department of the province, Standing Member;

- Commander of the Hanoi Capital High Command (for the Anti-terrorism Steering Committee of Hanoi City), Commander of the Ho Chi Minh City High Command (for the Anti-terrorism Steering Committee of Ho Chi Minh City), or Chief of the Military Command of the province (for the Anti-terrorism Steering Committees of other provinces), Member.

If necessary, the People's Committee of the province may decide to add additional members, such as Directors of other departments or heads of other sectors, to participate in the provincial-level anti-terrorism steering committee based on the proposal of the Head of the Committee.
