Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree No. 89/2018/NĐ-CP providing guidelines for implementation of the Law on infectious disease prevention and control regarding the border health quarantine of Vietnam.
According to Decree No. 89/2018/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, information of a person shall be collected before his/her entry, exit or transit.
Information to be collected includes:
- General information concerning the health status of the person is entering, exiting or transiting;
- Information from the declaration of health submitted by the person is entering, exiting or transiting;
- Information concerning the vaccination or prophylaxis for a person departing from or arriving the country/ territory where such vaccination or prophylaxis is compulsory;
- Information concerning the conveyance carrying the person for entry, exit or transit;
- Information concerning cargoes which may possibly have been exposed to a communicable disease;
- Other information concerning the health status of the person entering, exiting or transiting (if any).
Besides, Decree No. 89/2018/NĐ-CP also lists sources from which health quarantine officers shall collect information, specifically including:
- National, port and checkpoint portals;
- Port and checkpoint authorities;
- Health agencies at port or checkpoint;
- Carriers, conveyance owners and operators, travel companies, or tour guides;
- Agency in charge of implementing International Health Regulations, World Health Organization, Ministry of Health and other sources of information.
Decree No. 89/2018/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government takes effect from August 10, 2018,
