Vietnam: Cases of imported products subject to exemption from inspection

Circular No. 07/2017/TT-BKHCN was issued by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam, providing amendments to Circular No. 27/2012/TT-BKHCN on statutory inspection of imported good quality under the management of the Ministry of Science and Technology, effective from October 01, 2017.

Circular No. 07/2017/TT-BKHCN of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam has supplemented regulation on application of exemption from inspection of imported products, specifically as follows:

- If import goods prescribed in Clauses 1 and 2, Article 5 of this Circular have the same name, use, trademark, type and technical characteristic of the same production establishment and origin from the same importer, after three consecutive import in six months together with a certificate of conformity with the national technical regulations shall be granted a certification of exemption from inspection for a period of 01 year with the following information: name of goods, brand, type; specifications; origin, manufacturer; quantity and volume of imported goods as registered; unit.

- An importer who wishes to be exempt from inspection of imported goods shall submit an application containing: name of goods, brand, type; specifications; origin, manufacturer; quantity and volume of imported goods as registered; unit; certificate of conformity with national technical regulation for three consecutive imports in six months.
