On December 28, 2018, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs of Vietnam issued Circular 54/2018/TT-BLDTBXH on the minimum knowledge volume and required competencies for graduates from intermediate (Level 4 of VQF) and college (Level 5 of VQF) levels in health and social service sectors.
Vietnam: Basic skills required for graduates of Traditional Medicine, Level 4 of VQF - Illustration
According to the regulation on the minimum knowledge volume and required competencies for graduates from intermediate and college levels in Traditional Medicine issued together with Circular 54/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the basic skills required for graduates of Traditional Medicine, Level 4 of VQF in Vietnam are prescribed as follows:
- Communicate effectively with patients, patients’ families, communities, and colleagues within the healthcare team;
- Use professional terms of traditional medicine in communication with colleagues;
- Promptly detect and report common emergency cases at the workplace;
- Implement technical procedures in acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, and moxibustion for treating some common diseases;
- Perform basic preparation techniques of common medicinal herbs;
- Master massage and acupressure techniques for disease prevention and treatment;
- Convey information, ideas, and solutions to colleagues;
- Use basic information technology as per regulations and apply information technology in some specialized tasks within the profession;
- Use basic foreign language skills, achieving level 1/6 in the Vietnamese foreign language proficiency framework; and apply foreign language skills in some specialized tasks within the profession.
