Vietnam: Basic skills required for graduates of Forestry Ranger, Level 4 of VQF

Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH issued by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs of Vietnam on the minimum knowledge volume and required competencies for graduates from intermediate (Level 4 of VQF) and college (Level 5 of VQF) levels in agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and veterinary will come into effect from February 10, 2019.

According to the regulation on the minimum knowledge volume and required competencies for graduates from intermediate and college levels in Forestry Ranger issued together with Circular 52/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the basic skills required for graduates of Forestry Ranger, Level 4 of VQF in Vietnam are stipulated as follows:

- Completing the steps involved in surveying, assessing, and monitoring changes in forest resources;

- Implementing plans for forest resource management, pest management, forest fire management, and wildlife conservation;

- Utilizing and maintaining various types of machinery, applying software, remote sensing software (GPS) in forest resource management;

- Organizing and implementing conservation supervision and wildlife resource development within the area;

- Completing steps in administrative violation penalties;

- Supervising reforestation efforts, encouraging community participation in methods of forest resource and environmental protection management;

- Proficiently using assigned military weapons, and combat gears, adhering to regulations on their usage, maintenance, safety, and other protective measures when performing duties;

- Efficiently performing tasks to protect state interests and the legitimate rights and interests of organizations and citizens in forestry;

- Using basic information technology as per regulations; exploiting, processing, and applying IT in professional tasks in the field;

- Using basic foreign languages, achieving level 1/6 in Vietnam's Foreign Language Proficiency Framework; applying foreign languages to professional tasks in the field.
