Vietnam: Basic knowledge required for graduates of Medical Imaging Equipment Engineering, Level 5 of VQF

On December 28, 2018, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs of Vietnam issued Circular 54/2018/TT-BLDTBXH on the minimum knowledge volume and required competencies for graduates from intermediate (Level 4 of VQF) and college (Level 5 of VQF) levels in health and social service sectors.

Vietnam: Basic knowledge required for graduates of Medical Imaging Equipment Engineering, Level 5 of VQF - Illustrative Image

According to the regulation on the minimum knowledge volume and required competencies for graduates from intermediate and college levels in Medical Imaging Equipment Engineering issued together with Circular 54/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the basic knowledge required for graduates of Medical Imaging Equipment Engineering, Level 5 of VQF in Vietnam is as follows:

- Explaining the structural characteristics of diagnostic imaging equipment such as: conventional X-ray machines, digital X-ray machines, C-Arm X-ray machines, angiography machines, CT scanners, film processors, film printers, ultrasound machines;

- Presenting the operating principles of diagnostic imaging equipment;

- Presenting the operational procedures of diagnostic imaging equipment;

- Presenting the maintenance procedures of diagnostic imaging equipment;

- Presenting the methods for repairing certain malfunctions of diagnostic imaging equipment;

- Presenting knowledge in the fields of electricity and electronics such as: electronic components, pulse technology, digital technology, circuit technology, electrical engineering, etc.;

- Describing the structure and use of measuring devices: multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.; tools used for electronic and mechanical repairs, etc.;

- Presenting safety and environmental hygiene regulations in the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment;

- Determining the equipment handover procedures and recording work logs;

- Presenting basic knowledge of politics, culture, society, law, national defense and security, and physical education as required by regulations.
