Timeline for the school year 2023–2024 in Vietnam

Decision 2171/QD-BGDDT of 2023 promulgates the time planning framework for the 2023-2024 school year for preschool education, general education, and continuing education applicable nationwide as follows:

- Back to school at least 1 week before the opening date. Particularly for grade 1, the earliest time to start school is 2 weeks before the opening date.

- Openning day of school on September 5, 2023.

- Finishing the first semester before January 15, 2024; completing the second semester education plan before May 25, 2024; and ending the school year before May 31, 2024.

- Considering recognition of completion of the primary school program and recognition of secondary school graduation before June 30, 2024.

- Completing enrollment for first-level classes before July 31, 2024.

- High school graduation exams and national-level exams shall take place according to the regulations and instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training.
