Vietnam: Application for extension of a leadership or managerial position to retirement age

According to Article 54 of the Decree No. 138/2020/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government, application for re-appointment shall comply with the provisions of such application for appointment of officials holding leadership and management positions as prescribed in Article 48 of this Decree. Application for extension of a leadership or managerial position to retirement age include:

- A written request for extension of the period of holding a leadership or managerial position to retirement age, signed by the head of the agency or organization (in the case of submission to a competent superior for decision) or signed by the head of the advisory body on personnel organization (for the case where the head of the agency has the authority to decide);

- The minutes of the meeting and the results of the vote counting requesting extension of the time holding the leadership and management positions of the leaders of the agency or organization;

- Curriculum vitae, which is self-declared according to the prescribed form, certified by the direct management agency, with a 4x6 color photo, taken within a period of no more than 06 months;

- Self-review and self-assessment of the performance of responsibilities and tasks during the term of holding the position;

- Conclusion of the competent committee on political standards;

- Comments of the branch committee of the place of residence for himself and his family. If his/her place of residence is different from that of his/her family, he/she must obtain comments from the branch committee where he/she resides and where his/her family resides;

- Declaration of assets and income according to the prescribed form;

- Health certificate issued by a competent medical facility within 6 months.
