Vietnam: Amendments to application for driving license renewal from June 15, 2022

The Minister of Transport of Vietnam issued Circular 04/2022/TT-BGTVT dated 22/4 /2022 edit Circular 12/2017/TT-BGTVT on driver training, driving tests and issuance of driving licenses for motor vehicles.

According to the Circular in Vietnam, amendments to the application for driving license renewal issued by the Transport sector include:

- An application form for driving license renewal as specified in Appendix 19 issued together with Circular 12/2017/TT-BGTVT;

Application for driving license renewal

- Health examination record of drivers issued by competent medical establishments in Vietnam, except for A1, A2, A3 class driving license.

(Currently, Circular 12/2017 stipulates that persons who need to separate driving licenses with limited and unlimited validity periods combined are not required to submit a medical examination record, but from June 15, 2022, they must submit a medical examination record)

- A copy of the driver's license, identity card or citizen identification card, or a valid passport with the number of the identity card or citizen identification card (for Vietnamese people) or a valid passport expiry date (for foreigners, overseas Vietnamese).

Circular 04/2022/TT-BGTVT takes effect from June 15, 2022.
