Vietnam: Adjustment of administrative boundaries of wards in Ha Long City from July 07, 2006

This is the notable content in Decree 58/2006/ND-CP regarding the adjustment of administrative boundaries of several communes, wards, and districts; establishment of communes; and expansion of townships under the districts of Yen Hung, Tien Yen, Dam Ha, Hai Ha, Uong Bi town, and Ha Long City in Quang Ninh Province.

Decree 58/2006/ND-CP stipulates the adjustment of the administrative boundaries of the wards: Bai Chay, Gieng Day, Ha Khau, Hung Thang, and Viet Hung commune under Ha Long City, Quang Ninh province. To be specific:

1. Adjust 114.3 hectares of natural area and 66 people of Bai Chay ward to be managed by Gieng Day ward.

2. Adjust 16.1 hectares of natural area of Bai Chay ward; 98.3 hectares of natural area and 485 people of Ha Khau ward; 52.96 hectares of natural area and 193 people of Gieng Day ward; 40.2 hectares of natural area and 12 people of Viet Hung commune to be managed by Hung Thang ward.

3. Adjust 190.2 hectares of natural area and 714 people of Viet Hung commune to be managed by Ha Khau ward.

After adjusting the administrative boundaries:

- Bai Chay ward has 1,936.6 hectares of natural area and 15,645 people.

- Gieng Day ward has 624.04 hectares of natural area and 10,055 people.

- Ha Khau ward has 920.6 hectares of natural area and 9,658 people.

- Hung Thang ward has 596.56 hectares of natural area and 5,280 people.

- Viet Hung commune has 3,169.6 hectares of natural area and 8,686 people.

- Ha Long City has 21,430.58 hectares of natural area and 203,731 people, with 20 administrative units including the wards: Hong Gai, Bach Dang, Tran Hung Dao, Yet Kieu, Ha Khanh, Cao Xanh, Cao Thang, Ha Lam, Hong Hai, Hong Ha, Ha Tu, Ha Phong, Ha Trung, Tuan Chau, Bai Chay, Gieng Day, Ha Khau, Hung Thang and the communes: Viet Hung, Dai Yen.
