Vietnam: Accounting firms must disclose information

The Ministry of Finance of Vietnam issued Circular No. 297/2016/TT-BTC on the issuance, management, and use of Certificates of eligibility for providing accounting services.

According to Circular No. 297/2016/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam, disclosing information about accounting firms is carried out as follows:

- The Ministry of Finance shall post on its website:

+ The list of accounting firms eligible for providing accounting services;

+ The list of accounting firms that are suspended from providing accounting services, have their Certificates of eligibility for providing accounting services revoked, or receive warnings against unfulfilled conditions for providing audit services;

+ The list of accounting firms that voluntarily suspend or terminate the provision of accounting services.

- Within 30 days from the day on which the Certificate of eligibility for providing accounting services is issued, the accounting firm must make public the information of the certificate of eligibility for providing accounting services on 3 consecutive issues of a paper or online newspaper.

Circular No. 297/2016/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam takes effect from January 01, 2017.
