Vietnam: Abrogation of certain regulations in the field of Internet services and cyber information

On November 07, 2018, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree No. 150/2018/NĐ-CP, which abrogates certain regulations in the field of Internet services and cyber information.

Decree No. 150/2018/NĐ-CP of Vietnam’s Government abrogates certain articles of Decree No. 72/2013/ND-CP on management, provision and use of Internet services and cyber information, as amended and supplemented in Decree No. 27/2018/ND-CP. Specifically, the following regulations are abrogated:

- Point b Clause 2 Article 14 on ".vn" domain name registrars, specifically the requirements of ".vn" domain name registrars;

- Point b Clause 2 Article 15 on international domain name registrars in Vietnam, specifically the requirements of international domain name registrars in Vietnam;

- Clause 2 Article 32b on conditions for technical aspects related to video games G1, specifically the requirement on plans are in place to assure service quality and players’ interests.

- Clause 3 Article 32d on application for license to provide video games G1, specifically the certification of using legal domain names included in such application in case of international domain names;

- Point e Clause 4 Article 32d on application for license to provide video games G1, specifically the plan for use of Internet resources in the scheme for providing video games G1;

- Clause 4 Article 33 on conditions for registering video games G2, G3, G4, specifically the condition that the financial and technical capacity, organizational structure, and personnel are suitable for provision of game services.
