Vietnam: 21 disciplines and professions for graduates from college-level mine pit mechanical and electrical engineering

Recently, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in Vietnam issued Circular 50/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum knowledge and competency requirements for graduates at intermediate and college levels for disciplines and professions in the mining engineering and other engineering fields.

Under Circular 50/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, college-level mine pit mechanical and electrical engineering is a discipline/profession in which the practitioner performs tasks (directly or indirectly) supporting the extraction of beneficial minerals by pit methods, meeting the requirements of level 5 in the Vietnamese Qualifications Framework. Graduates from college-level mine pit mechanical and electrical engineering in Vietnam will have the capacity to meet the requirements of the job positions of the discipline/profession, including:

  1. Supervising electro-mechanical equipment in mine pits;
  2. Operating equipment in mine pits;
  3. Monitoring electro-mechanical equipment in transport chains in pits;
  4. Operating electro-mechanical equipment in transport chains in pits;
  5. Repairing electro-mechanical equipment in pit excavation;
  6. Operating electro-mechanical equipment in pit excavation;
  7. Supervising network station system;
  8. Operating network station system;
  9. Monitoring the technical status of the illumination system;
  10. Operating the illumination system;
  11. Maintaining and installing equipment in pits;
  12. Repairing water pump stations in pits;
  13. Operating water pump stations in pits;
  14. Repairing air compressor stations;
  15. Operating air compressor stations;
  16. Repairing mine ventilation stations;
  17. Operating mine ventilation stations;
  18. Repairing electric locomotive battery stations;
  19. Operating electric locomotive battery stations;
  20. Repairing solution supply stations;
  21. Operating solution supply stations.
