Vietnam: 16 compulsory contents printed on the formulated pesticide product label

According to Circular No. 21/2015/TT-BNNPTNT of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, compulsory contents printed on the formulated pesticide product label include:

- Commercial name;

- Pesticide class;

- Formulation type;

- Name, composition and content of the active ingredients;

- Quantitative determination;

- Registration number;

- Manufacturing date;

- Batch number;

- Expiry date;

- Origin of manufacture;

- Information about the manufacturer;

- Information about the registration certificate holder or distributor;

- Instructions for use and storage;

- Warning of hazards;

- Instructions for the safe use of the pesticide product;

- Name, content of the solvent, additive that may change the acute toxicity of the formulated pesticide product (when applicable).

Besides, Circular No. 21/2015/TT-BNNPTNT also stipulates that secondary pesticide product label shall follow the following provisions:

- If the label does not have enough blanks to print all compulsory contents as prescribed in Article 70 hereof, the primary label must comprise at least the contents stipulated in Clause 1, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12, 14 Article 68 and another secondary label must be additionally provided.

- The secondary label should be mounted on each pesticide package in order to make it unlikely to be displaced during circulation and use.

- On each pesticide product label, the notice sentence “READ INSTRUCTIONS PRINTED ON THE SECONDARY LABEL CAREFULLY BEFORE USE” must be printed.

- Contents printed on the secondary label shall include all of compulsory contents so printed on the primary label.
