Vietnam: 12 knowledge required for graduates from college-level logistics

Recently, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam promulgated Circular 56/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum knowledge and competency requirements for graduates at intermediate and college levels for disciplines and professions related to transport services, environment, and security.

Under Circular 56/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, college-level logistics in Vietnam is a discipline or profession that controls the flow of goods, energy, information, and other resources such as products, services, and people, from the supply of input factors for the production process to the distribution of output products, meeting the requirements of level 5 in the Vietnamese Qualifications Framework. The graduates from college-level logistics in Vietnam must process the following knowledge:

  1. Identify the contents and legal regulations related to logistics activities;
  2. Update domestic and international policies, regulations, and rules regarding logistics;
  3. Classify different types of logistics activities;
  4. Determine safety standards for labor and goods security;
  5. Be able to present the shift handover process and use of the work log;
  6. Apply scientific and technical advancements in logistics administration, cargo handling, integrated warehousing, warehouse operation, and supervision;
  7. Be able to present concepts in the logistics field related to logistics administration, cargo handling, integrated warehousing, warehouse operation, and supervision;
  8. Analyze the processes and methods of performing tasks in logistics administration, cargo handling, integrated warehousing, warehouse operation, and supervision;
  9. Analyze the characteristics and modes of operation of equipment and facilities in logistics related to logistics administration, cargo handling, integrated warehousing, warehouse operation, and supervision;
  10. Describe various types of records/documents in logistics administration, cargo handling, integrated warehousing, warehouse operation, and supervision;
  11. Analyze common incidents in logistics administration, cargo handling, integrated warehousing, warehouse operation, and supervision;
  12. Be able to present basic knowledge on politics, culture, society, law, national defense and security, and physical education as per regulations.
