Recently, the Government of Vietnam issued Decree No. 08/2014/ND-CP detailing and guiding the implementation of a number of articles of the Law on science and technology.
According to Vietnam’s regulations, an intermediary organization in the science and technology market is understood as an organization that provides connecting and support services to both suppliers and demanders, as well as other parties involved in transactions related to technology, intellectual property assets in accordance with civil, commercial, investment, enterprise, science and technology laws and regulations.
According to Decree No. 08/2014/ND-CP of Vietnam’s Government, 05 forms of intermediary organization of the science and technology market include:
- Incubators of technology and scientific and technological businesses;
- Technology trading floors and centers and technology – equipment markets;
- Organization of services of evaluation, valuation, inspection and consultancy and technology transfer
- Centre for promotion and support of technology transfer activities;
- Other scientific and technological service organizations related to the science and technology market.
The establishment and operation of intermediary organizations of the science and technology market shall comply with the provisions of this Decree and other relevant legal documents.
