This is important content regulated by Circular 30/2011/TT-BCT on provisional regulations on the permissible content limitation of some toxic chemicals in the electronic and electrical products issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam on August 10, 2011.
Vietnam: 04 responsibilities of manufacturers or importers of electronic and electrical products (Illustration)
Under Article 6 of Circular 30/2011/TT-BCT, manufacturers or importers of electrical and electronic products in Vietnam have the following responsibilities:
1. Manufacturers or importers of electrical and electronic products in Vietnam must ensure that the content of hazardous substances of manufactured or imported electrical and electronic products does not exceed the limit specified in Annex 1 of this Circular.
2. Manufacturers or importers of electrical and electronic products in Vietnam disclose information generally in the direction of manufactured or imported electrical and electronic products complied with the provisions of this Circular on the permissible content limit of toxic substances. The disclosure of information is made by one of the following forms:
- Posting on the Website of manufacturers or importers;
- Disclosing information in the instruction manual may be in the form of the instruction manual or the instruction note accompanying products;
- Disclosing information in the electronic form (CD, ...);
- Being printed directly on the products or packaging.
3. In all cases, Manufacturers or importers of electrical and electronic products in Vietnam shall be responsible before the law for the accuracy of the information disclosed as provided in Clause 2 of this Article.
4. Manufacturers or importers of electrical and electronic products in Vietnam shall prepare and archive management records of hazardous chemicals content in electrical and electronic products traded on the Vietnam market and submit them to the competent authority upon request. The management records include the list of inputs; quality control votes of inputs raw materials and components; and the process of management of toxic chemicals content.
