Vietnam: 04 responsibilities of heads of state management agencies in inspection activities in the Planning and Investment sector

According to Article 32 of Decree No. 216/2013/ND-CP of Vietnam’s Government, responsibilities of heads of state management agencies in inspection activities in the Planning and Investment sector are specified as follows:

1. The Minister of Planning and Investment is responsible for:

- Organizing and directing the activities and organization of the Inspection Department of the Ministry of Planning and Investment; ensuring the necessary conditions regarding funding, technical equipment, uniforms, and other necessary conditions for the operation of the Inspection Department of the Ministry of Planning and Investment; and promptly handling the conclusions and recommendations of the Inspection Department of the Ministry of Planning and Investment in accordance with the provisions of the law.

- Providing detailed regulations on the tasks and powers of the General Statistics Office, the Director of the General Statistics Office, and the advisory unit for inspection work in the Planning and Investment sector.

2. The Chairman of the People's Committee of the provincial level is responsible for directing the Director of the Department of Planning and Investment to organize and improve the organization, ensure funding, staff, technical equipment, uniforms, and other necessary conditions for the operation of the Inspection Department of the Department of Planning and Investment; and sending inspection conclusions to the Ministry of Planning and Investment within the prescribed time limit for inspections related to the state management functions of the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

3. The Director of the Department of Planning and Investment is responsible for organizing and directing the activities and organization of the Inspection Department of the Department of Planning and Investment; and promptly handling the conclusions and recommendations of the Inspection Department of the Department of Planning and Investment in accordance with the provisions of the law.

4. The Director-General of the General Statistics Office is responsible for organizing and directing the activities and organization of the advisory unit for inspection work in the Planning and Investment sector at the General Statistics Office and the Statistics Department; ensuring the necessary conditions regarding funding, technical equipment, uniforms, and other necessary conditions for the operation of the advisory unit for inspection work in the Planning and Investment sector at the General Statistics Office and the Statistics Department.
