Upon the completion of the community sentence deadline in Vietnam, the person who has complied will be issued a Certificate of Completion​ (Illustrative Image)

According to Circular 65/2019/TT-BCA, upon the conclusion of the community sentence execution period in Vietnam, the individual serving the sentence will be issued a Certificate of Completion of Sentence, specifically:

- When an individual benefiting from a suspended sentence, early parole with conditions, serving a community sentence, residence prohibition, or probation has completed their sentence, the Commune Police will advise the Commune People's Committee to prepare a report on the status and results of the execution and hand over the management, supervision, and education dossier of the individual to the District Police Criminal Execution Agency within the stipulated time of the Law on Execution of Criminal Judgments. The handover must be documented, and the dossier must be kept in the criminal execution records.

In the case of individuals serving sentences involving the deprivation of certain civil rights, prohibition from holding a position, or particular professions, upon completion of their sentences, the District Police Criminal Execution Agency will issue a Certificate of Completion of Sentence.

- The head of the District Police Criminal Execution Agency signs the Certificate of Completion of Sentence; issues the certificate to the serving individual and sends it to relevant agencies, organizations, and individuals as stipulated by the Law on Execution of Criminal Judgments and keeps a record. If there is no head of the District Police Criminal Execution Agency at the time of the completion of the sentence, the District Police Chief must issue a written confirmation of sentence completion to the individual. After a head is appointed, the District Police Criminal Execution Agency will then issue the formal Certificate of Completion of Sentence.

- After issuing the Certificate of Completion of Sentence, the District Police Criminal Execution Agency will file the management, supervision, and education dossier into the criminal execution records and complete closure procedures, submitting the dossier for storage according to the professional record-keeping policies of the Ministry of Public Security.
