Types of Allowances and Benefits for National Defense Workers

In addition to the salary received according to the Appendix issued together with Decree 19/2017/ND-CP, defense workers are also entitled to the following types of allowances and benefits:

- Seniority allowance beyond brackets;- Area allowance;- Special allowance;- Hazardous, dangerous allowance;- Job responsibility allowance;- Public duty allowance;- Allowance and subsidy for working in areas with extremely difficult socio-economic conditions;

Conditions, duration, and rates of various allowances are implemented as prescribed in the following Decrees:

- Job responsibility allowance as per Decree 204/2004/ND-CP;- Public duty responsibility allowance as per Decree 34/2012/ND-CP;- Allowance and subsidy for working in areas with extremely difficult socio-economic conditions as per Decree 116/2010/ND-CP;

More details can be found in Decree 19/2017/ND-CP, effective from April 15, 2017. The policies in this Decree are applied retroactively from July 1, 2016.
