The State Bank of Vietnam recently issued Circular 08/2018/TT-NHNN providing guidance on the emulation and commendation work in the Banking sector.

According to Circular 08, commendation and emulation in the banking sector are carried out under the following two forms:

Regular Emulation:

- This type of emulation is based on the functions and duties assigned to a collective or individual to organize and initiate.- The subjects of regular emulation are individuals within a collective, collectives within the same agency, organization, unit, or between agencies, organizations, units with similar functions, tasks, and nature of work.

Thematic Emulation:

- This type of emulation aims at excellently performing a key task or a specific area that needs focus within a certain period of time, or organizing emulation to strive to complete urgent or unexpected key tasks of the agency, organization, or unit.
