The Prime Minister of Vietnam issued Official Dispatch 1123/CD-TTg dated November 25, 2022, on strengthening prevention and fighting against crime and law violations related to football betting.

Taking advantage of the "World Cup 2022" world football championship, football betting activities are taking place very complicatedly, with increasingly sophisticated methods and tricks, seriously affecting the security situation. security, order.

In order to promptly prevent, repel, and end the evils of football players and ensure political security, social order, and safety, the Prime Minister of Vietnam requestes:

- Police:

+ To direct the police of units and localities to synchronously deploy professional measures to grasp the situation and strictly manage key objects and areas;

+ Trganize the fight to destroy the groups, lines, and subjects of gambling and football betting activities, especially during the 2022 World Cup final round;

+ To step up the fight against crimes related to football betting activities, such as "black credit," fraud, robbery, property theft, etc.

- Ministry of Information and Communications:

+ To strengthen propaganda to raise people's awareness not to participate in gambling activities, especially football betting via the internet;

+ To work closely with the Ministry of Public Security to block gambling and betting websites and perform professional tasks to proactively detect and eliminate football betting sites and lines.

- Provincial People's Committees and Centrally Run Cities:

+ To direct functional forces, the core of which is the police force, to organize strong suppression and attack, strictly handle criminals and law violations related to football betting in the area;

+ To mobilize the synergy of the political system in preventing and effectively fighting football betting activities, ensuring security and order, propagandizing and mobilizing people to raise vigilance, actively participating in the movement of the whole people to protect national security, and denouncing football betting activities
