Below is the important content stated in Resolution 129/NQ-CP on Government's regular meeting of August 2020, issued by the Government on September 11, 2020.

According to Resolution 129/NQ-CP, the Government emphasizes that Vietnam has been, is and will promote international cooperation in the context of the economy affected by Covid-19.

Specifically, the results achieved are as follows:

  • Foreign affairs and international integration are further promoted;
  • Amidst the pandemic, Vietnam fulfills the roles as the ASEAN Chair, non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and AIPA 41 Chair properly;
  • Continuing to cooperate and assist other countries with the fight against COVID-19.

At the same time, continue to implement and effectively promote international cooperation to boost the economy as follows:

Regarding economy:

- Robustly attract social investment capital and private investment capital, especially the moving foreign investment capital flows.

- Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam shall proactively and actively give advice on and propose promotion of cooperation with other countries on investment in radical solutions to promote investment and selectively attract supply chain relocation and foreign investment capital;

- Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam shall cooperate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Finance, relevant ministries and regulatory bodies, and local governments in developing action programs and plans for trade promotion and boosting of export to potential markets;

Regarding diplomacy: Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam shall properly organize foreign affairs events as appropriate to the COVID-19 situation, especially the 37th ASEAN Summit and related events. Continue to properly protect Vietnamese citizens abroad amidst the pandemic.
