4. TCVN 6946:2022 - ISO 2965:2019: Materials for making cigarette papers, filter papers and filter-joint papers, including materials with directional or interrupted air permeability zones and rolling tapes of varying air permeability - Determination of air permeability

Some standards when producing filtered cigarettes in Vietnam

Pursuant to TCVN 6666:2022, filtered cigarettes are products made from tobacco raw materials with or without added additives, rolled in rolling paper for suction, in a common cylindrical shape with a filter head.

Substances are actively included in the production and processing processes to maintain or improve the characteristics of cigarettes.

* Regarding packaging, labeling, transportation, and preservation of filtered cigarettes

- Packaging

Filtered cigarettes are packaged in three layers of material: aluminum layer, a label paper layer, and a cellophane layer (or in appropriate packaging).

- Labeling

The labeling of health warnings on filtered cigarette packaging must comply with current regulations.

The number of cigarettes must be written on the cigarette pack. On the medicine carton and on the medicine package, write the number of medicine packs.

- Preservation

Store filtered cigarettes in a dry, clean place without strange odors. Cigarette boxes must be placed on shelves or platforms 20 cm from the floor and 50 cm from the wall. Cigarettes should be stored in an environment with a temperature between 20 °C and 25 °C and air with a relative humidity of 60% to 70%.

-  Transport

Vehicles transporting filtered cigarettes must be dry, clean, and free of strange odors. When loading and unloading the product, be gentle to avoid damaging the cigarettes.

Some standards for producing filterless cigarettes in Vietnam

Specifically, according to TCVN 6667:2022, filterless cigarettes are defined as products made from tobacco ingredients with or without added additives; rolled in rolling paper for suction in a common cylindrical shape, without a filter.
