On June 16, 2020, the National Assembly passed the Youth Law 2020 to replace the Youth Law 2005, which takes effect on January 1, 2021. The Youth Law 2020 clearly stipulates the responsibilities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, economic organizations, and social organizations.

Youth Law 2020 provides entirely new regulations regarding the responsibilities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (MTTQVN) and economic and social organizations, specifically in detail:
1. Responsibilities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front
- Develop plans and unified action programs of the Vietnam Fatherland Front regarding the gathering, uniting, and promoting the youth force.- Coordinate with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and other member organizations of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to implement social monitoring and criticism programs concerning youth policies and legislation.- Mobilize members of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to take care of and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of youth.
2. Responsibilities of economic organizations
- Ensure a safe working environment and conditions.- Provide adequate knowledge and information on labor safety and hygiene to young workers.- Pay attention to the welfare of young workers.- Support young workers in learning, participating in cultural, sports, and health care and protection activities.- Facilitate the establishment and operation of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Youth Federation.- Encourage and support youth entrepreneurship.- Provide vocational training, professional skills, and life skills, and invest in building cultural, sports, and physical facilities for youth.
3. Responsibilities of social organizations
- Mobilize their members to create conditions for youth to study, work, participate in cultural, sports, physical development, intellectual development activities; cultivate ethics, national traditions, sense of citizenship, and lead in creative labor and national defense.- Cultivate ethics, national traditions, and sense of citizenship, and lead in creative labor and national defense.- Coordinate with state management agencies in building and implementing policies and legislation for youth.- Collaborate with youth organizations to take care of and protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of youth.- Support resources in accordance with the law and the charters of social organizations to develop youth.
