Circular 31 stipulates the value C of pollution parameters in wastewater from cassava starch processing in Vietnam as follows:
No. | Parameter | Unit | Value C | ||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
A | B | ||||
1 | pH | - | 6 - 9 | 5.5 - 9 | |
2 | Suspended Solids (TSS) | mg/l | 50 | 100 | |
3 | BOD5 (20°C) | mg/l | 30 | 50 | |
4 | COD | New facility | mg/l | 75 | 200 |
Operating facility | mg/l | 100 | 250 | ||
5 | Total Nitrogen (N) | New facility | mg/l | 40 | 60 |
Operating facility | mg/l | 50 | 80 | ||
6 | Total Cyanide (CN‑) | mg/l | 0.07 | 0.1 | |
7 | Total Phosphorus (P) | mg/l | 10 | 20 | |
8 | Total Coliform | MPN or CFU/100 ml | MPN or CFU/100 ml | 3 000 | 5 000 |
Where:
- Column A of Table 1 stipulates the value C of pollution parameters in wastewater from cassava starch processing when discharged into water sources used for domestic water supply;
- Column B of Table 1 stipulates the value C of pollution parameters in wastewater from cassava starch processing when discharged into water sources not used for domestic water supply;
The purpose of the water source receiving the wastewater is determined at the wastewater receiving area.
Simultaneously, Circular 31 also stipulates that from January 01, 2020, the values prescribed for new facilities will apply to all cassava starch processing facilities.
