The Trade Union is the Spiritual Support for Workers

The Trade Union is a political-social organization that represents the collective of employees. The Trade Union protects the legal rights and interests of employees, promptly grasps the thoughts and aspirations of workers, resolves occurring disputes, contributes to harmonizing labor relations, and can be said to be a spiritual support for employees.

Trade Union Law 2012 and related guiding documents stipulate that participation in the trade union is a voluntary right of employees without any compulsion or coercion. However, if joining the trade union, employees will have practical and legitimate benefits. To be specific:

- The Trade Union always grasps the thoughts and aspirations of employees and promptly helps resolve them;- When the legitimate personal rights of employees are violated, the Trade Union will intervene and protect them;- By joining the trade union, employees have the opportunity to study, train, and be informed about the directions, policies of the Communist Party, and the laws of the State related to the Trade Union and employees; the regulations of the Trade Union;- The Trade Union guides and helps to find jobs, provides vocational training; visits and aids during illness or in difficult situations;- The Trade Union creates recreational activities for employees by participating in cultural, sports, and tourism activities;- Moreover, employees can nominate, be nominated, and vote for the trade union leadership body according to the provisions of the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union; question trade union leadership officials; and petition to discipline trade union officials who violate regulations.
