The Title of Officers According to the Amended Vietnamese People's Army Officer Law 2014

This Law also amended the regulations on the positions of officers previously stipulated in the current law.

To be specific, according to Clause 1, Article 1 of the amended Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army 2014, which amends and supplements Article 11 of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army 1999, the basic positions of officers are:

- Minister of National Defense;- Chief of the General Staff; Director of the General Political Department;- Director of the General Department, General Director, Political Commissar of the General Department;- Commander of the Military Region, Political Commissar of the Military Region; Commander of the Service, Political Commissar of the Service; Commander of the Border Guard, Political Commissar of the Border Guard;- Commander of the Army Corps, Political Commissar of the Army Corps; Commander of the Branch, Political Commissar of the Branch; Commander of the Naval Region, Political Commissar of the Naval Region;- Division Commander, Political Commissar of the Division; Chief of the Military Command of the province or centrally-run city, Political Commissar of the provincial-level Military Command; Chief of the provincial-level Border Guard Command, Political Commissar of the provincial-level Border Guard Command;- Brigade Commander, Political Commissar of the Brigade;- Regiment Commander, Political Commissar of the Regiment; Chief of the district-level Military Command, Political Commissar of the district-level Military Command;- Battalion Commander, Political Commissar of the Battalion;- Company Commander, Political Commissar of the Company;- Platoon Leader.

Positions and titles equivalent to the positions stipulated in points c, d, and e, clause 1, Article 11 of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army 1999 shall be regulated by the Government of Vietnam; positions and titles equivalent to the positions stipulated in points e, g, h, i, k, and l, clause 1, Article 11 of the Law on Officers of the Vietnam People's Army 1999 shall be regulated by the Minister of National Defense.
