The Relationship Between Schools, Families, and Society in Primary Education Activities in Vietnam

Recently, the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam issued Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT promulgating the Charter for Primary Schools in Vietnam .

Article 45 of the Charter issued with Circular 28/2020/TT-BGDDT clearly regulates the relationship between schools, families, and society in primary education activities in Vietnam as follows:

- The relationship between schools, families, and society aims to ensure consensus in implementing educational activities; helps diversify and maximize resources to build educational institutions in an open manner, ensuring the best educational environment for each student. Coordination of education between schools, families, and society ensures democracy, equality, cooperation, transparency, and accountability.

- Schools proactively propagate and inform students' families about the school's annual educational policies, plans, and activities; exchange the situation of students' training and learning and agree on educational measures for students; mobilize families to bring dropout students back to class; create conditions for parents or guardians to come to the class to understand and support students in training and learning; mobilize and create conditions for students' families to participate in building schools in accordance with the law and effectively use contributed resources.

- Schools participate in disseminating educational policies of the Vietnam Communist Party, the State, and the sector within the residential community; regularly update the situation of society and residential communities; build schools into local cultural and educational centers; organize teachers and students to participate in experiential activities, learning about local history and culture, and other social activities; consult and propose to local authorities to create conditions for schools to develop in scale, ensure facilities, and effectively implement educational activities; receive sponsorship from social forces in accordance with the law.
