Recently, the Government of Vietnam has issued Decree 34/2020/ND-CP amending Article 3 of Decree 02/2018/ND-CP stipulating the functions, tasks, powers, and organizational structure of Vietnam Television.

Decree 34/2020/ND-CP amends and supplements Article 3 of Decree 02/2018/ND-CP regarding the organizational structure of Vietnam Television as follows:
- Office.- Personnel Organization Department.- Planning and Finance Department.- Inspection Department.- International Cooperation Department.- Editorial Secretariat.- News Department.- Education Department.- Ethnic Language Television Department.- External Affairs Television Department.- Arts Department.- Entertainment Program Production Department.- Sports Program Production Department.- Cable Television Editorial Department.- Youth Department.- Documentary and Reports Center.- Television Film Production Center.- Archives Center.- Vietnam Television Center in the Southern region.- Vietnam Television Center in the Central - Highlands region.- Digital Content Production and Development Center.- Vietnam Television's Resident Offices abroad established according to legal regulations.- Program Production Engineering Center.- Transmission and Broadcasting Engineering Center.- Fine Arts Center.- Training and Television Professional Development Center.- Advertising and Television Services Center.- Information Technology and Television Technology Center.
The units "Office; Personnel Organization Department; Planning and Finance Department; Inspection Department; International Cooperation Department" are assisting the General Director; the unit specified in Clause 6 of this Article assists the General Director and produces and broadcasts programs; the units specified from Clause 7 to Clause 25 of this Article are program production and broadcasting organizations; the units specified from Clause 26 to Clause 28 of this Article are other professional organizations.
The General Director of Vietnam Television reports to seek the Prime Minister's opinion regarding the establishment, dissolution, and organizational arrangement of other units under the jurisdiction according to legal regulations.
The Editorial Secretariat is organized into 15 rooms; the Office is organized into 10 rooms.
