The minimum service price for technical safety inspection of motor vehicles in Vietnam is 100,000 VND/vehicle

The Ministry of Finance of Vietnam has just issued Circular 238/2016/TT-BTC stipulating the service prices for technical safety inspection of motor vehicles, equipment, and specialized machines in circulation; evaluation and calibration of motor vehicle inspection equipment.

The service price for technical safety and environmental protection inspection of motor vehicles in Vietnam currently in circulation is as follows:

Detailed pricing for each specific type of vehicle can be found in the Service Pricing Table for technical safety inspection and environmental protection for motor vehicles, equipment, and specialized vehicles currently in circulation; assessment, calibration of motor vehicle inspection equipment issued attached to this Circular.

The service prices stipulated in this Circular include value-added tax but do not cover the fee for issuing the technical safety and environmental protection certificate for motor vehicles and specialized vehicles as per regulations by the Ministry of Finance, nor the costs for accommodation, travel, and communication for inspection tasks in locations more than 100 km away from the registering unit's headquarters.

Accommodation, travel, and communication costs for inspection tasks in locations more than 100 km away from the registering unit's headquarters (if applicable) shall follow the current regulations of the Ministry of Finance regarding business trip policies for state agencies and public service providers.

Registration units are obligated to publicly post and list service prices, pay taxes on the collected amounts, and have the right to manage and use the remaining funds after tax payment according to legal regulations.

Circular 238/2016/TT-BTC is effective from January 1, 2017, and replaces Circular 114/2013/TT-BTC, Circular 132/2014/TT-BTC of the Minister of Finance.
