On June 18, 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (abbreviated as the Department of Education and Training) issued Announcement 3719/TB-SGDDT regarding the recruitment of public employees (Round 1) for the academic year 2024 - 2025 for public service providers under the management of the Department of Education and Training in Ho Chi Minh City.

In Announcement 3719/TB-SGDDT dated June 18, 2024, it is regulated that the recruitment of public employees will be carried out through a competitive exam in two rounds (details about deadlines, addresses, places to submit application forms; the phone number of the department receiving the application forms; the timing and specific locations of the exams are stated in Clause 9.2, Section 9 of the Announcement 3719/TB-SGDDT):

* Round 1: General Knowledge Test

  • Form of the exam: multiple-choice test on a computer.

  • General Knowledge Content: 60 questions about the laws concerning public employees, the guidelines and policies of the Party, and laws regarding the education sector. The exam duration is 60 minutes.

  • Round 1 Exam Results: determined based on the number of correct answers, which will be notified immediately after the candidate completes the test on the computer. If the candidate answers correctly 50% or more of the questions, they will proceed to Round 2.

Note: There will be no re-evaluation of the results of Round 1 taken on the computer.

* Round 2: Specialized Subject Exam to Evaluate the Professional Capacity and Teaching Skills of the Candidate

  • Form of the exam: practical test.

  • Exam Content: testing the knowledge and professional skills of the candidate as required by the job position.

  • Exam duration: 30 minutes per candidate (including a maximum of 15 minutes for preparation).

  • Grading scale: 100 points.

Note: There will be no re-evaluation of the results of Round 2.

Guidelines for determining successful candidates in the first recruitment round for public employees at public service providers in Ho Chi Minh City

According to Announcement 3719/TB-SGDDT dated June 18, 2024, the guidelines for determining successful candidates in the first recruitment round for public employees at public service providers in Ho Chi Minh City are as follows:

  • Successful candidates in the public employee recruitment exam must meet the following conditions:
  • Score at least 50 points in the Round 2 exam;

  • The total score of Round 2 plus priority points (if any) must be higher, ranking them from highest to lowest within the recruitment quota for each job position.

  • In the case of several candidates having the same scores in the practical exam plus priority points (if any) for the last quota, the successful candidate is the one who scored higher in the general knowledge test in Round 1. If still undetermined, the Director of the Department of Education and Training will decide the successful candidate.

  • For applicants choosing two preferences but not successful in the first preference, they will be considered for the second preference if the job position for the second preference still has recruitment quotas after considering all first preferences (including the consideration of candidates with lower results according to regulations).

If there are two or more candidates with the same score for the second preference, the successful candidate will be decided according to Clause 7.2, Section 7 of Announcement 3719/TB-SGDDT dated June 18, 2024.

If the job position still has recruitment quotas after considering both preferences, based on exam results, the Examination Council will report to the Director of the Department of Education and Training to decide on recruiting candidates with lower scores than the successful ones in other job positions but having the same standards and conditions as the unfilled job positions. These persons must meet the regulations mentioned in point a, Clause 7.1, Section 7 of Announcement 3719/TB-SGDDT dated June 18, 2024.

For job positions with no applicants, the Director of the Department of Education and Training will decide on recruitment in accordance with these regulations.

  • Unsuccessful candidates in the public employee recruitment exam will not retain their exam results for future recruitment exams.
